Help Wanted - Deputy Dog Warden

Full Job Description

The Morrow County Board of Commissioners seeks a part-time Deputy Dog Warden for the Morrow County Dog Shelter located on Young Ave.

Responsibilities: Enforces statutes for regulation of licensing, ownership, and animal control. Maintain records and provide reports. Provide care to animals following shelter guidelines.

Schedule: A minimum of 15 hours per week. Must be available to work weekends and available for after hour emergency calls (on call). A set working schedule will be arranged once training has been completed.

Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent with strong communication and customer service skills. Valid Ohio driver’s license with a good driving record. 1-year work-related experience and or training in the caring for and handling of animals. Able to lift at least fifty pounds.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: Negotiable based on experience


  • 4-8 hour shift
  • Weekend availability is necessary
  • Be available for on call (after hours)


  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)


  • Dog handling: 1 year (Preferred)
